The Revised FINAL Cast List for Scottsville has been published.

There is a mandatory rehearsal tomorrow night at WEAD for all Scottsville cast members. Please see the Scottsville Rehearsal Schedule for more details.

We need to know who is available to drive, and who needs rides to Scottsville. Please sign up by tomorrow evening so that we can make carpooling arrangements. The carpool sign-up sheet is posted on the call board at WEAD.

The Scottsville Rehearsal Schedule for this weekend (December 16-17) has been published. This includes a revised schedule for Saturday’s travel and performance.

The FINAL cast list for the Scottsville performance which will take place on Saturday, December 17, 2011, has now been posted.

Rehearsal information will be posted on this site as soon as it is available. Please be aware that there is a rehearsal scheduled for this Friday, December 16, for all participating cast members. The rehearsal will run from 6:15 to 7:45pm, with early dismissal for Angels at 7pm. (Look for the official schedule to be posted later this evening.)

Please refer to the Scottsville Show information document for further details on Saturday’s schedule. Please note: Departure times from WEAD will be 15 minutes later than what was originally posted.

Parents and cast members, please sign up on the Carpool Sign-up Sheets which will be posted on the call board at the WEAD studio this week. Dancers, if you need a ride, or parents, if you are willing to offer rides to other dancers, please sign up at the studio by Thursday, so that we can organize carpools Friday evening during rehearsal.

Saturday and Sunday Volunteer Lists Published

Thank you to all of the parents who have volunteered to help this weekend with the show. The Performance Volunteer List is now available for you to view. Please check this list to find out your volunteer assignment for this weekend.

All volunteers should arrive by 12:45pm (except ushers who are to arrive by 1:20pm).

Urgent Message for All Cast Members and Parents

If you are wondering whether it’s OK for your dancer to miss a rehearsal or two this weekend, please read this message from the choreographers:

MPORTANT REMINDER: This is the last weekend of rehearsals for the Nutcracker. It is imperative that all students and performers be present for all scheduled rehearsals for the duration of the times that they are scheduled for. All of our casting decisions were based on the ability of the students to commit to this rehearsal schedule. All students and parents are reminded that this is the one weekend that no excused absences are permitted.

The 2011 Nutcracker Sweet DVDs are being produced by Bruce Berryhill, an acclaimed dance videographer who is affiliated with Virginia Commonwealth University. This year alone, Bruce has earned several platinum and gold awards, and has been recognized for his film achievements by being included in the 40th edition of Dance on Camera which will take place at Lincoln Center, New York City, in January. His dance documentary, “Restaging Shelter,” which was performed at VCU, will also be shown at a film festival in India later in the year.

Last year, Bruce did an amazing job filming our Nutcracker Sweet performances. This year’s DVDs will again include a photo “scrapbook” of stills from rehearsals and the Sweets Party, set to classical music.

If you haven’t ordered your performance DVDs yet, the DVD order form can be found under Pages. You may order individual performance DVDs, or a combo pack of both shows. All DVD orders must be submitted by Friday, December 16.

Strong Men Needed

At the conclusion of the performance on Sunday, December 11, when we “strike,” we have a need for extra hands, i.e., strong people that can load the boxes and the scenery.

Perhaps there are some dads out there that would love to flex their muscles and help us out on Sunday after the show. It won’t take long…just 5-10 minutes. We start this process literally as soon as the curtain closes and the kids leave the stage. Everyone will be at the Sweets Party at this point.

Upcoming Promotional Event

I received the following information from Kate Semp, regarding our upcoming promotional event at Nordstrom (Short Pump):

I heard from Bridgette at Nordstrom yesterday and we are confirmed for Friday, December 2. They would like us to arrive by 4:30pm and will run until about 7pm. I was supposed to hear from the store manager and HR but still have not been contacted by them and don’t have their contact information but am reaching out to their main office hoping to connect with someone. As I understand it we can do as much or as little as we want. If you cannot come for the whole time please consider showing up for whatever time you can give!

I would like to have dancers by the doors and cafe as well as floating through the children’s area. I think it would be great to have soldiers at the doors. We will be able to distribute flyers for The Nutcracker Sweet and information about WEAD and PDM.
